It's not about being liberal or conservative anymore y'all. That is a hype offered by the fascist whores who want to confuse the people with lies while they turn this country into an aristocratic police state. Some people will say anything to attain power and money. There is no such thing as the Liberal Media, but the Corporate media is very real.

Lies versus Truth

Bryan Tyler Cohen is a gem. Here he shows us how the Right wing media is all about creating nuanced controversy. Btw Biden's press secretary Jen Psaki is the fucking bomb. Girl don't take no shit, and casually makes your stupid bullshit look like stupid bullshit.

You go girl.

American Exceptionalism

The US corporate tax rate as a percentage of GDP is the lowest of all top 37 OECD nations

No doubt that's because low tax rates are equated with making companies more competitive since they are presumed to then have more money they can use to invest and grow, which is completely and utterly false. Corporations do not make investments based upon tax rates. They make investments based upon the possibility of profits.

If a large company sees an opportunity to raise or spend 2 billion dollars in order to enable a revenue stream of 4 billion dollars, the difference between the the 4 and 2 is only diminished by taxes, because the costs were already captured by the 2 billion dollars. This is true in general for all businesses, the costs enable the revenue, and the difference is profits. Minimizing costs is also separate from maximizing profits. The costs can only be whittled down to a point, because the viability of the business to maintain a revenue steam will be affected. If you force employees to do the work of five, the quality of the business becomes lowered, which affects competitiveness.

What a low tax policy actually does is enable extra profits.

Case in point

Thank you Al Franken.

A history lesson on the Rethuglicans antics as hand-maidens towards the strangling of democracy.

I made a comment to an apologist for the Georgia Voter Suppression Laws

These people are allowed to have their framed arguments become "opinions" in National Newspapers.

Gabriel Sterling

Gabriel Sterling is the chief operation officer and chief financial officer in the office of the Georgia Secretary of State.

Click on the link and read the atrocious bit of verbal subterfuge that is the backbone of what the Washington Post calls "an opinion."

I and many others saw through this ruse of an honest argument as the pure bullshit that it represents. No. Not us. We aren't doing voter suppression by passing unnecessary laws because of false specious allegations that have no basis of fact or merit or legal standing in any court of law.

Here is my comment

The duplicity of why this was necessary despite, as you admit, was not an election filled with fraud. Republicans love to exploit the margins of legalese, knowing full well that they can wax poetic about how their actions are not really what they really are. Yet the author cannot explain why any voter has to wait more than an hour, or why he accuses President Biden of not speaking truthfully because of the author's mischaracterization of the context of the words that are in the law. That's not a lie. Read the words in the bill.

The chutzpuh of talking about toning down the rhetoric by any Republican is just too much. Half of the tiny small less than 0.001% of those who are caught in voter fraud are Republican voters who knowingly did it. Most of the other half are ex-felons who didn't realize they did not have the right to vote.

All these laws worrying about 0.001% because of a North Carolina Republican strategist who explicitly researched how to marginalize 1 or 2 percent of Democratic voters so that Republican's could win elections.

Funny how the author doesn't mention that at all. Probably trying not to be political when he leaves out the history of Voter Suppression that uses these presumably "honorable" attempts to "protect" voting.

Convince the zombies if you must. Crocodiles pretend to stand above the fray while flossing their teeth knowing how the actual words of the law will give all the jackals the rope they need to strangle democracy.

And that's what this is. Stop pretending otherwise or just go away. Propaganda is not patriotic.

The National Debt Scaremongering

The National Debt is not like a personal credit card, but the politicians who scare monger over the National Debt get to sound sensible and make homey anecdotal comments about being responsible because a family household can't run up debt or owe more than the family can afford.

Except … loans and financing are instrumental to the functioning of a market based economic system, and has been since the beginning of using monetary systems within a socio-economic system. Businesses make investment or initiate a purchase of goods with a loan, paying interest in order to do so, in the attempt to make a profit after creating a revenue stream based upon either selling the goods, or enabling a lowering of costs from the infrastructure investment that negates the initial upfront investment over a period of time.

Governments do the same thing, making investments that the private sector won’t make because the short-sighted interests of the private sector can be detrimental to the long-term interests of society. Private business can be narrow-minded to the larger benefits to society and even themselves because the public benefit from such investments are a small positive to the aggregate balance sheet of the individual private business. However the ancillary costs that accrue from a lack of such investment rise exponentially, and then our society gets to the point where the need for such upfront investment becomes not only obvious, but also much more expensive than it would have been if we had the foresight to make the investments in our societies infrastructure long before they became obvious.

Freedom

I call this song Freedom

Here's the lyrics

My advice is taken lightly I don’t follow it myself just like everyone else

What I say is just a parlor game because words are just constructed to be free

(and) maybe you lie to be free

~ ~ ~

When I sigh it’s just an alibi a ploy of self-destruction or a plea

There’s no sign no alleyway or path to take that is a guarantee to be free

(and) maybe you lie to be free

Josh Hawley is a schmuck

Senator from Missouri who voted to "cancel" the Arizona and Pennsylvania election results, fist-pumped the insurrectionists outside of the Capitol building, and then whines when his book deal gets cancelled -- even though the contract he signed gave the publisher full discretion to end the contract. Not like there aren't plenty of publishers that will publish his propaganda book.

He goes on right-wing radio and attempts to pretend that he wasn't intending to alter the election results. He just has "questions" and "concerns" that apparently were not alleviated by both the 60+ court cases which evinced not a single shred of evidence, or by the Justice Department's inability to find any evidence that systematic fraud occurred at all.

He's just a politician pandering to the rubes who are brainwashed by the right-wing media that lies to them.

No one could have predicted

When this happened in Lansing over the summer because of ... the governor's response to the covid, and yet no one could have saw this coming. What did all these people floating false accusations about voter fraud think would happen? What did fucking Ted Cruz and his ilk think was going to happen when they wore the costume of conscience without any shred of evidence that their accusations of voter fraud have any truth whatsoever.

Election fraud is easy to spot. Signatures are easy to match. Paper records are verifiable. Even people using machines will get a paper copy that is turned in. The idea that dead people voting is not more than 10 IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY is supported by the fact that they are easily found. The people who push that meme conflate the loose matching of names with dead voters with actual voters. Imagine how many Terrance Jones, T. Jones, Terrence Jones, Terance Jones, Terrance Jones Jr., and so on ... that's what these fuckers are doing.

Funny thing. At least half of the 10 found in THE ENTIRE NATION are Republicans.

The pot calls the kettle black, because the pot is rotten to the core.

This. Is. Disgusting.

The aristocracy of the confederacy refused to accept the Presidency of Abraham Lincoln because the basis of the feudal economic system was suddenly threatened. The old Southern order was able to use the Elector system and control of the Senate for many years, until the tumultuous 1850’s when the realities of the feudal system got too much entangled with the ongoing process of the capitalist system that was taking over — which is why railroads and factories exploded after the Civil War.

So rather than accept the necessary transition and the election of Abraham Lincoln, the Southern aristocracy stirred up the extremist rhetoric and convinced the poor whites that they were being taken over by Northern oppression that wanted to make them no different than black slaves. Racism in the United States exists because it has been cultivated by the aristocracy that refuses to acknowledge the necessity of change, and would rather make the lower orders fight each other, while they pick their pockets for loose change and increase their profits.

Rile up the rubes with false information and inflammatory rhetoric. Send them marching to do the necessary deeds that will create the sedition. That is our history.
