It's not
about being liberal or conservative anymore y'all. That is a hype offered by the fascist whores who want to confuse the people with lies while they turn this country into an aristocratic police state. Some people will say anything to attain power and money. There is no such thing as the Liberal Media, but the Corporate media is very real.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Jose continues to follow in the distance. Wow.

Xiuhtezcatl Martinez
He is a seventeen year old indigenous climate change activist who was raised in Boulder, Colorado.
His ancestry dates back to the Aztecs. I love his long hair.
Here he is on the Bill Maher show, Friday 8 September 2017
What he says in this segment about Cows and Dairy has me thinking. I eat Sour Cream, certain kinds
of dairy-based cheese (in addition to goat-based cheese), and put 2 or 3 fluid ounces of Half-n-Half
in my coffee every day. Maybe twice a month I
might eat anywhere between 4 to 12 ounces of beef.
It is true that raising cattle necessitates growing lots of grain to feed them and using tremendous
amounts of water. It is true the methane releases from cattle is more than automobiles. However, I
have always thought that the problem with the
modern food situation is that so many people eat more food than they need to because the way they
eat is completely out of metabolic balance. Dumping all that sugar into our bloodstream, or all the
processed foods that become sugar in the bloodstream, forces us to eat more than we need because our
bodies are too busy freaking out from all the blood sugar to utilize the fats and proteins
efficiently. Then there are misconceptions about fats that lead people to eat "low-fat" diets which
deprive them of the ability to effectively absorb minerals and vitamins. The "fast-food" industry
is more responsible for the situation Xiuhtezcatl and Maher describe here, in my opinion. We do not
need to eat a hamburger every single day, or even 3 times a day -- as is the case for some folks.
But I agree with Xiuhtezcatl completely. It doesn't have to be
this way. You do get to choose how to eat 3 meals a day. Laws could be mandated to make factory
production illegal, just like the Jewish community
made decisions about what foods are Kosher. It's about long term solutions to the inevitable
problems when you use an industrial complex solution to the food distribution system.

Three Hurricanes at once
Behold. Hurricane Katia hovering around Veracruz, Mexico. Hurricane Irma barrelling towards
Florida and freaking out 30 years National Weather Service professionals. And then here comes
Hurricane Jose following in the path of Irma.
WTF. This is amazing.

OMG
This thing is going to destroy Florida. 225 mph wind gusts and sustained 180 mph winds. When the
average temperature of the water raises 1.2 degrees Fahrenheit, that means it rises higher in other
areas and is lower in others due to the nature of averages. Hurricanes get more energy from higher
temperature water. These storms are not only more frequent, but also more virulent.
In 50 years, Florida will be under water and the Gulf Coast will become a huge ghost town. New
Orleans is very likely to gone, part of the vast swamp South of Lake Pontchartrain. It saddens me to
say that because New Orleans is such a special place, but never let your emotions get in the way of
your science, otherwise you might become an evangelical zealot.
Fact: the seas are rising 3 times more than anticipated. Archeological
excavations of ancient coastal cities are finding times in the past when the sea rise was awesome
and sudden and vast. We measly humans are suddenly realizing that the seas are likely to rise at
least 200 feet in the next 50 to 100 years.

World Series prediction
This year I think it will be the Yankees vs. the Brewers. I don't see Boston or Houston's pitching
staff overcoming the Yanks, and don't overlook Matt Holiday for his RISP hitting ability. The Cubs
could very well be in the mix, but I don't think Washington has the staff honestly. Why would I
pick the Brewers over the Dodgers? You might call it intuition, but since I was born in San
Francisco there is a large degree of bias in that perspective. I just don't see the starting
pitching holding up during the playoffs. The Dodgers do have a great bullpen, but it's been the
starters that have failed (Kershaw especially) to hold in the post season over the last decade.
Kershaw, Hill, Wood, Darvish, Maeda, Ryu, and McCarthy(?) versus Nelson, Anderson, Davies, Woodruff,
and Matt Garza.
It could be the Yankees and Dodgers again after all is said and done. I just don't see the Cubs
repeating, even though they are still a really good team. It's gonna be either the jagernaut
Dodgers or the cinderella Brewers in my opinion.
Don't blow off the Indians either. Terry Francona is a master in the post season. Also don't
overlook the Twins, Diamondbacks, Angels or the Mariners, because stranger things have happened.
But if I had the courage to put big money on the line, I say it's the Yanks vs. the Brew Crew in the
WS this year.

Trump loves Fake Times Magazine covers
Trump has a picture hanging at his various golf course establishments with his picture on the cover
of time.
Except it's a fake.
The picture on the right is a fake. The real Time Magazine cover is on the left.

A spokesperson from the Time Magazine Corporation has asked Trump to remove the fake Time's covers.

Why you can't run government like a business

Talking points politicians
Rethuglican Karen Handel says this in response to whether she would raise the minimum wage, after
Jon Ossoff says he would. She states a list of talking points.
This is an example of the fundamental difference between a liberal and a conservative. I do not
support a livable wage. What I support is making sure that we have an economy that is … is robust
with low taxes and less regulation so that those small businesses that would be dramatically hurt if
you impose higher minimum wages on them … are able to do what they do best : grow jobs and create
good paying jobs for people in this sixth district.
She is correct. This is an example of "the fundamental difference between a liberal and a
conservative".
making sure that we have an economy that is … is robust
with low taxes and less regulation
How would you "make sure" this happens?
Low taxes assumes the trickle down theory works.
Less regulation for who?
It's as if the "robust" economy happens automatically when you lower taxes and cut regulations.
Except that is not true. It's also not supported by the historical record. Tax cuts for
corporations and wealthy people do not automatically become investments in the infrastructure.
Caymen Island bank accounts and frivolous spending diminish the power of this assumption. Cutting
regulations can also create massive future costs at the expense of a short term gain -- such as when a
company is allowed to externalize the costs of production in the forms of pollution and shoddy
safety procedures, creating costs on society that are not felt by the non-regulated industries.
small businesses that would be dramatically hurt if
you impose higher minimum wages on them
Except it's not true. Look at Seattle and San Francisco and Los Angeles and anywhere else where the
urban minimum wage was raised. Small businesses were not "dramatically hurt" at all.
able to do what they do best : grow jobs and create
good paying jobs
How do you "grow jobs"? What fertilizer do you use to "grow" these "good paying jobs" ? It's like
these things automatically happen when you lower taxes and cut regulations, and so that's why Mrs.
Handel makes these statements about "growing" in relation to the job market.
Are Google, MacIntosh, and Microsoft paying low wages as they "grow"?
Entrepreneurs take chances when they perceive opportunities to make money. The cost of labor is a
social decision, and does not inhibit the motivations of businesses in a local environment because
all employers have the same labor costs. If there is a concern that local businesses might not be
able to compete with non-local businesses, than that is a matter than is better addressed in other
ways. The minimum wage of labor is not related at all to the ability to grow jobs because it is
society and social norms which set this foundation. This is why the minimum wage laws were
established in the first place, because society decided there should be a basic floor. Those who
disagree with this position use the nonsense argument that this inhibits business growth and
expansion, despite being refuted by every single historical reference to the matter.
She has her talking points and sticks with them. Throw out the red herring arguments and prop up
this pretense of statesmen or stateswomen ship with empty nouns and phrases that sound good to the
ignorant, those deluded on the bunk economical philosophy of trickle down deregulation economics.

A brief review of the last 3 weeks
It amazes me that this is from the Morning Joe, which is the most Conservative of Mainstream
outlets. When Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski (daughter of the Jimmy Carter's National Security
Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski ) are hammering down, you know you have crossed the moral
equivalent of common sense.
